  1. We will be selling 50/50 tickets at the Beckwith Harvest Festival, on Sunday September 13th, from 11 am to 4 pm.
  2. The annual Women's Fair will be held at the Arena on Saturday November 7th, 2026
  3. The annual Christmas dinner for seniors will be held in late November or December.
  4. A second wine-tasting will be held early in 2027.

Fundraising Projects
Club Fundraisers
Each year, the club holds the following fundraising events.
  1.     Nevada Ticket Sales. This event is on-going, and is the largest fundraiser operated by the club, bringing in several thousand dollars each year. We sell instant scratch tickets in the lobby of the Giant Tiger store on Coleman at McNeely. 
  2.     Women's Fair. We organize a Fair for women in November, usually held in the Carleton Place Arena. Income comes from table sponsorships, a silent auction and food services. Funding raised at this event is used to support Lanark County Interval House.
  3.     Wine-tasting event. Every year we plan to hold a wine-tasting event. The first of these in March 2026 was attended by 100 guests, with ticket prices at $75 per person.
  4.     50/50 Raffle. We sell 50/50 tickets each year, with the draw held at the Women's Fair in November.
Adventures programs
Adventures in Citizenship and High Technology
 
The Rotary Club of Ottawa runs the "Adventures in Citizenship" and "Adventures in High Technology" programs each year. They bring young people from across the country for a four day program of talks and visits. "Adventures in Citizenship" focuses on political and economics issues, with a visit to Parliament. "Adventures in High Technology" is more technical in nature, and covers the latest developments in Information Technology. 
 
We invite the local high schools to nominate candidates, and send one or more students to these programs each year.
Wine-tasting
Wine-tasting event 2026
A fabulous evening with a guided wine tasting with Louise Boutin of MySommelière and beautiful food pairings from the Black Tartan Kitchen. The event was held at the Carleton Place Curling Club.
All 100 tickets were sold, and all the guests were pleased with the event. We expect to repeat this event next year.
Christmas Dinner
Christmas Dinner for Seniors
The club invites about 100 seniors from Carleton Place and Mississippi Mills to a Christmas Dinner, in late November or early December. It is held in the Carleton Place Arena. Catering is by Leatherworks, who provide a full turkey dinner and choice of desserts. There is musical entertainment from a local group.
 
Rotary now selling Nevada and 50-50 tickets at Giant Tiger
Members of the Rotary Club of Carleton Place are now selling 50-50 tickets to raise funds for local charities.  
 
Tickets for the Rotary's annual 50-50 tickets are on sale now.  These tickets cost $5 each and a previous year's winner took home over $2000.  The 50-50 ticket draw will be held at the Women's fair (see the next story) on 1 November at the Carleton Place Arena (upstairs).  You do not have to be present to win.
 
Nevada tickets are being sold at the Giant Tiger store at 320 Coleman St, Carleton Place between 9 AM and 3 PM on Thursdays and Fridays. 
 
The people selling the tickets are a combination of Rotary members and friends of Rotary who also belong to the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital auxiliary.  These people volunteer their time to sell the tickets, oversee people opening their tickets, and hand out prizes.  So, the next time you enter the Giant Tiger store and see that table please stop and buy a few tickets!  You can also ask the volunteers on duty there for information about joining the Rotary club.
