Annual Mushroom Compost Sale - May 4th and 5th, 2024
This year's compost sale will be held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday May 4th, and from 9:00 am to noon on Sunday May 5th.
Bags of mushroom compost weighing about 15 Kg (33 lb) will be sold for $10 each.
We are not able to do deliveries this year. You can pre-order by email to 'rotarycpmm@gmail.com'.
The mushroom compost is purchased in bulk from Greely Sand and Gravel. It is packed into bags by teenagers from a local sports team - this year will be the second year that the Carleton Place Girls Hockey Team will do the work. The club makes a contribution of $2 for each bag they pack, and the team can use the money for equipment and travel.
The remaining profits will be donated to local charities. (The club donates 15% of the funds it raises each year to international projects such as the drive to eliminate polio).
The compost works wonders on growing flowers and vegetables. Just work in a small amount into the soil, and see the results in healthy plants and great vegetables.
